What is EASA Part 66 and who should enrol?

EASA Part 66 is the European Union Aviation Safety Agency standard for aircraft maintenance engineers — the qualification that lets you certify maintenance and release aircraft to service.

Who qualifies to take the EASA B1/B2 program?

Our B1 (mechanical) and B2 (avionics) training is ideal for licensed engineers seeking EASA certification, airline maintenance staff, and aviation graduates looking to advance their careers.

What are the categories of EASA Part 66 licences?

The main categories are A, B1, B2, B2L and L. Category A allows limited certification of minor scheduled line maintenance; B1 covers mechanical systems; B2 covers avionics; B2L is for specific avionics systems; and L is for light aircraft.

What is the difference between Category B1 and B2 licences?

B1 focuses on the mechanical aspects of maintenance — airframe and engine systems, including aeroplane aerodynamics, structures and systems. B1 holders can release aircraft to service after mechanical maintenance and certify simple avionics tasks tied to mechanical systems. B2 specialises in avionics — the aircraft's electronic systems, such as communications, navigation and instrumentation.
